A fraudulent individual, posing as Miss Ira but identified as a KANHAIYA THAKUR on Truecaller, has been attempting to scam me since yesterday. Many of you are aware that these scammers often exploit well-known brand names and companies to entice people with part-time job offers.
People are called on WhatsApp and given the assurance of providing online work. Initially, they are paid some money in exchange for liking videos or giving positive reviews.
After that, they are invited to a Telegram group and tempted with significant benefits to make investments. Once the user sends the money, they are blocked. It becomes difficult for ordinary individuals to reach the people behind this scam.
According to a report by The Indian Express, scammers obtain numbers in three ways. They use websites that generate international numbers for free.
Additionally, virtual numbers are obtained by making payments in cryptocurrency.
Similar individuals are also present on Telegram and eBay, who sell such numbers to customers. Once a virtual number is obtained, it is registered on WhatsApp.
