This poem is dedicated to Sonam Wangchuk, and to every voice that refuses to surrender truth, conscience, and humanity in the face of fear.

On the 18th day of Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, this poem is dedicated to every individual who chooses conscience over convenience and truth over silence. Regardless of one’s political beliefs, a peaceful protest reminds us that the strength of a democracy lies not only in those who govern, but also in its willingness to listen to dissent. May dialogue prevail before silence becomes irreversible.
